​Identity

I've been looking for you everywhere,
in the ravines of what was,
among the rubble of trauma,
in the midst of the flashes of shooting stars.
You weren't there.
I have known despair,
and I didn't find you,
fearing the worst.
Almost resigned,
I set out and,
to my amazement,
you were there,
beside me,
who smiled at me,
along the tratturo that leads to the new day.
We admired the dawn.
My heart hoped.
My limbs,
exhausted before,
for fatigue,
now they moved nimbly.
I found you in love,
my identity,
in the infantile momentum that embraces the other,
pure,
authentic,
silent.
It was never me
before knowing the kisses of the one who chose me,
And,
in the end,
I became what I wanted to be as a child:
a man.
Then my Psyche faced a new world:
ideas,
words,
sounds.
Defeat was turned into victory.
The wounds have ceased to hurt,
and have been healed.
The Companion's smile has become a reason for life,
milestone,
all-round arch,
like the shapes of the body that enchants me.
I found you, Identity:
you were in the grace of an ancient song,
in the verses of poets,
in the paintings of those who described love with signs,
not to lose it anymore.
The slow and patient construction.
Progress every day by one centimeter.
Acceptance, without violence.
The sun is shining now.
The stars show the way.
I am and I have no intention of abandoning you.

​I swore to myself that I know how to deal with tragedies, today, wherever they occur in my life.
I don't want to allow the pain to annihilate me anymore.
I just want Peace.
I want to live with my Partner, who is the source of all my bliss.
This composition is a hymn to the Isle of Beauty that everyone has within themselves.
